Jericho the Movie 2010

image

Since this is a as in development stage as IMBD page for Jericho has posted there is not much to report but yes it is coming and I am so glad to hear that. I was one of those fans that kept writing in when they were going to cancel the show and like many grumbled at series finally because it seemed a little rushed together. Jericho may have not been one of those wow you with the effects sci fi but it had a great post apocalyptic story plot of a town that survived a devastating Nuclear assault on the US ( Done by some factions in the US )and the story how they rallied to survive and eventually bring to light the injustice of the leadership that caused the holocaust. You can watch full episodes of the series on CBS.coms Jericho Video Season 1 and 2.

The news that I can find on Jericho comes from a couple of sources

1. Scifimoviepage.com

JERICHO (2010) - PREVIEW

THEY SAY

Jericho is a drama about what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears on the horizon, plunging the residents of a small, peaceful Kansas town into chaos, leaving them completely isolated and wondering if they're the only Americans left alive. But in this time of crisis, as sensible people become paranoid, personal agendas take over and well-kept secrets threaten to be revealed, some people will find an inner strength they never knew they had and the most unlikely heroes will emerge.

Jon Turteltaub Plans to Bring Jericho to the Big Screen

Jericho is the TV show that won't die. It originally premiered on CBS in 2006 only to get cancelled after a handful of episodes. After the fans campaigned to have it brought back by sending the network truckloads of nuts, Jericho was given another half season. And now, episodes are being reaired on the CW, where it garners bigger ratings than critically acclaimed shows like Mad Men. According to an interview in If Magazine, producer John Turteltaub is planning to bring the series back as a big screen feature film sometime later this year.

And 3. Wild about movies

"Jericho: The Movie"

Director John Turteltaub is bringing the series "Jericho" back as a big screen feature film. You'll remember John Turtletaub not only as the producer (and a director) of the TV show "Jericho" as the force behind the movie box office smashes "National Treasure" and "National Treasure 2."

John Turteltaub stated, "It's fun to see the show won't die. We're developing a feature for 'Jericho.' It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what's going on beyond the town in 'Jericho."

This last boldly stating that the whole cast is back for this one. I do not see why not and I hope so . They had a great chemistry together but none of the other sources has stated who will be staring in it.

I can't wait for the movie to come out, honestly I can't. I think that they did a great thing in the second season... thanks to everyone that fought to have another season of Jericho. I wish that I had been one of those people. My mom and sister were really big into the series but I didn't get into it until after it was gone; I was in college at the time and TV was something that was a dream to me, not having cable really sucked. I got hooked into the series easily once I started watching it and was very very upset when I realized that there was no season three. I wish that there had been more time to do a full second season, so much more could have been done; but I understand what they were doing for the fans. Not CBS mind you but the producers and the cast of the show, everyone that worked their butts off and lost sleep to get a half season out there to everyone. CBS gave everyone that because of what the fans did. Something that I am VERY grateful for. I'm beyond thrilled to know that there is a movie coming out sometime this year. A whole family will be going to the movies if it hits there.. if not there will be at least 3 copies bought in the house. My mom and sister were thrilled when I told them about the movie. When I finished the second season I couldn't help but look online to see what was being done, and found numerous pages talking about a movie that was in the making. I can't wait to see it, though I wish with all my heart that a station will pick up the rights to the show and start it again with a Season three. It's a little hope here in the house, one that I know we all would love. Anyway thank you for this page, I thought that I would put my thoughts in, though you probably see it as rambling. :D I'll be coming back here to look regularly to see if there is any news!! Thanks again from the whole family!!

I thought this show was long gone. I can't believe they're making a movie. That will be awesome. Looking forward to seeing it, and buying a copy. =)

Hate to be the stick in the mud here guys - but this will never happen. I think the show was phenomenal and joined the list of incredible shows that got canned far too early (Terminator, Arrested Development, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Deadwood, etc) ... but that being said even if they DO make a movie, it'll be the same as the Firefly movie was and wont "continue" the story but rather will re-tell it in a completely different way.

I wish I could bring some good news for a movie. I really been wanting to write some updates on any news but all feedback so far is nothing is going to happen. I even went as far as getting google updates once a week on the series and mostly it comes back with non relevant news on Jericho.

I am with you on this. I am a huge fan and would love to see the series turn into a movie or even a SYFY mini series of some sort.

My wife and I just finished all the episodes on Netflix. I think I liked it better than Firefly (and Firefly was great)!!
