UFO the movie update and poster

Does anyone remember the old British TV series about a special force out to protect the Earth from an alien menace. Well yea I know there were thousands of those type of series but I am talking about UFO. Something I remember watching as a child and now has become one of those cults series that for some reason did not fade into oblivion like the others. Its a good thing to because the movie version or reboot (whatever you want to call it) is now throttling up to start production and is slated for release sometime in the summer of 2013. About 2 years ago there was rumor that it was suppose to have been all wrapped up and done for that a release date of 2011 (See UFO 2011 Dec 8, 2009). But as explained on the official site "This is a big film and it takes time to prepare a project of this magnitude. Like you, we are huge fans if the original series and want to do it justice. " Well I hate rushed films and I agree take the time to do it right. As long as the world does not end (A good reason to pray that the Mayan predictions of 2012 are wrong if you ask me) or the film suffers from budget over runs from the delay .
Already there is an OFFICIAL WEB SITE which pretty much means it will be made. You should check out the site. I will admit there is not much there yet except some cool flash effects for the home page , some info including the movie poster, and you can put yourself on the mailing list to keep getting updates on production, time schedules along with some gallery photos and such. Of course that is if your a fan of UFO.

For those that are not fans or never heard of the show here is a little background plot and info from Wikipedia along with some Youtube footage of the intro.

Steven Moffat stops rumors of Dr Who’s demise

Rumors are rumors of course of course and what you do with a rumor that's false. You listen to it then say, ohhh screw it ! Then shove it up your ....... Ummmm sing that to the theme of Mr Ed and you will get it. Well never the less the reason for that sarcastic intro was that there was this rumor of Dr Who not lasting through the 7th season. I would really have been surprised if that was even remotely true. Then again they are canning Eureka a successful program in its own right. But BBC is much smarter then SYFY and knows it has a legacy and hit to look after. So with all those rumors swirling Steven Moffat came forward to put all these worried Whovians minds at ease. In a statement from an interview. He said .....

Zachery Quinto talks about Star Trek 2

ComicBookMovie.com posted two different Videos of an interview with Zachery Quinto the first having a little more of the interview then the second which runs about a 1 minute 5 in time compared to 2:16.
In the interview he expresses his feelings on the long time between films which is a quite positive feeling that the long gap between films is good thing and it gap will let people breathe a bit and not to have them say "Already ? You know, again ?".
He also brought up some interesting ideas that possibly will be incorporated into the script. Of course this is speculation because he has no idea of what will be the story but hearing his ideas brings a level of curiosity to the project that is both exciting and healthy for the franchise.

SYFY cancels 6th season of Eureka

Eureka has been a huge hit for the network dedicated to Sci Fi and like shows. The SYFY network which is now currently running Season 4.5 (I guess that is what they are calling these abbreviated seasons these days) said they will not stay with the show and won't sign a season 6 despite plans to originally go ahead with at least 6 more episodes. At first there was a flurry of news that there would be at least 6 episodes for season 6 but for some odd reason and it can not be for ratings sake since it is one of the more hotter of the shows on SYFY they decided to decline any more seasons.

SYFY's official response to this is as follows ;
