AMC Fearfest Schedule for 2011

Here is something that is seasonable that I always look forward to. It's AMC Fearfest . It happens to be one of my favorites because I can either set my DVR or if I am lucky get to see ( that is if the little ones are not roaming around the tv) some of my favorite classic horror and sci fi type movies. This year is no exception and it will have a twist to it as it will be hosted by George Romero who is best known as the Godfather of all Zombies. This year there is an impressive linup of movies and shows . The main schedule for Fearfest is shown below but with some digging I found their entire horror and sci fi schedule list for October and it is huge. And guess what I managed to include the list here below the fearfest schedule. If you have trouble seeing some of the schedule which I placed in a simple table like order. You then can go to AMC website. The links to the particular pages are also listed below on the section titles. I thought that would make it easier for anyone that wants to book mark certain events or get more info on an event. Speaking of their website. AMC has included some fun trivia type of games like the George Romero Trivia
, Scream trivia, Friday the 13th Trivia and of course the Halloween Series Trivia games. So check that out if your into those things.

Well here is the list I compiled it should be all they have for this month ……

Bedlam: BBC America Trailer- 10-01-11

I like this trailer. It gives you this eerie scary type of old fashion haunted ghost story feel. If the series lives up to the trailer then BBC has another hit over here in the states. It just has that feel to me as a winner . Well we will see , right . I also included below the trailer the shows schedule for October.

Plot Synopsis from BBC America
Bedlam is a ghostly series set around Bedlam Heights -- a hip, newly renovated apartment building. Those who live there think they have the best address in the world, but little do they know their new home has a harrowing past.
The conversion of Bedlam Heights from a former insane asylum has awakened the ghosts of its dark and violent past. These spirits wish to reclaim what's theirs and seek revenge on those who have wronged them.
Kate (Charlotte Salt, The Tudors), a direct descendant of the people who ran the former asylum for generations, lives and works in Bedlam Heights. Her father, Warren (Hugo Speer, Skins), still owns the old family property, and Kate is helping him fill the remaining vacant apartments. She shares her apartment with roommates Ryan (Will Young, Skins) and Molly (Ashley Madekwe, Secret Diary of a Call Girl), but only with the unexpected arrival of Kate's adopted cousin, Jed (Theo James, Downton Abbey) -- a troubled man with a history of mental illness who sees ghosts and visions of the past -- are they able to uncover the terrifying secrets of Bedlam Heights. The hauntings that follow prove that sometimes when you scratch away the surface, things aren't always what they seem.
Written and created by Neil Jones (Blue Murder), David Allison (Boy Meets Girl) and Chris Parker (EastEnders).
Bedlam Premieres Saturday, October 1st at 10pm/9c.

Dr Who’s Season Finale and News of 7th season delayed

Well we know this is not the end of the series because there was a confirmed signing with Matt Smith of a season 7. Sadly it also has been confirmed that the season 7 will be delayed as it is reported at io9.com. According to the article "Wayne Clarke, confirmed via twitter that "Danny Cohen says there won't be a full series of Doctor Who in 2012, but a special run for the anniversary in 2013." Most likely this means that there will be some specials for 2012 or just a handful of episodes . But you can bet that in 2013 when the 50th anniversary celebration of Dr Who arrives there will be some great episodes and hopefully appearances by past Dr.s. Let me go out on a limb and think (more like pray) that maybe the past Dr's save the present Dr ????? That would be a good plot if they hold steady to River killing the Dr off. Yep I am fan and this is just a whimsical speculation of what may be in store.
As for the season finale it looks like (and any one who has ever watched the last two seasons should of guessed) that River Song is the Impossible Astronaut . One thing that I keep thinking of is that she is also the future 1 eyed patch lady. It sounds crazy but being a fan you try to figure out plot arcs and I think a wild one would be that she somehow either hates the Dr in the future enough to have her younger self turn against him or makes sure that a prophecy of some kind happens. Who knows maybe to get the Dr thinking about being peaceful again. Just a thought. Well here are two videos of the upcoming episodes one is the trailer and the other is a short prequel of the season finale.
Plot Synopsis at BBC Dr. Who
Episode 13: The Wedding of River Song
Written by Steven Moffat
The big finale! This one remains shrouded in mystery but Karen Gillan has promised us that the series will contain 'possibly the biggest twist so far'... Is it possible that this is the adventure that delivers it? Steven Moffat penned last year's incredible finale but it's probable that this adventure will conclude the series with a bigger bang than ever!

The Genesis Of Science Fiction In Films

Most people have no idea how science fiction was started in film. The genre itself is one that has been considered for a long time to be something that the serious filmmaker or those of higher taste could not take seriously. A great example of that is the way the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences treats the genre in general. Although if you really take a look at the history of science fiction. It has shown when a film or series was taking seriously or to precise was given serious thought when made, major contributions to society were made. One obvious example that comes to mind is the Star Trek communicator . Look at our cell phones today especially the flip style cell phone that started in the late 90’s (Motorola’s StarTAC, created in 1996) or the iPads, flat screen TV’s etc…. You think that any other of those genres could entice or stimulate the imaginations of so many to come up with such devices. To me that in itself puts this genre ahead of any other. That is why it was fascinating for me to go back to the grass roots of the industry to see where it all began and take a look at the first 20 odd years that these films were made.

Matrix Sequel Update – NOT HAPPENING !

This is a long over due follow up blog on one I wrote a while back entitled MATRIX 4 AND 5 MAY BE ON THE WAY which was based on 2 articles I read . One from the Guardian and the other from Aintitcool.com. After reading many articles on th estates of the film the more legitimate ones have totally debunk the idea of a sequel . Matter of fact the interview and the facts were totally made up it seems. Both Warner Brothers and Keanu Reeves have totally denied that the interview ever took place and Reeves never had a meeting with the Wachowski brothers.
In an article that I found dating back to January 25, 2011 from Underwire.com and one from the Playlist.com that dates back to January 24, 2011 have reported on meeting and interviewing reps for both parties. WB's spokeswoman Jessica Zacholl

told Wired.com by phone, pointing out that a school by that name doesn’t even exist. The studio rep added that the actor made no appearances of any kind in which he discussed Wachowski projects with film students.

Meanwhile Playlists contacted Reeves reps and were told
