Star Trek Into Darkness Review

18 May 2013

Rating: ★★★★★

When I go into a movie and sit down and get blown away from the opening scene till the end of the movie and leave with only being disappointed because it ended then I know I have seen something that will be a block buster and go down in the books as one of the greatest films ever. Star Trek Into Darkness was one of these films and without any exaggerations I would dare to say the best in franchise history. Not only was it great it was clever on how they played on the alternate universe both separating this version of Star Trek as distinctly different and at the same time being honest and truthful to the spirit of the original . Honestly I cannot find flaw in this one. Even with the recreation of Khans character which I usually cant stand. But JJ Abrahams and the writers have to be commended on their interpretation. The movie itself was a work of art visually and full of action that would excite even the non-trekies. The story arc was clever and full of poignant moments that brought a soul to the film. Especially the play on Kirks and Spocks characters. All in all this fill got five stars and if I could would give it more. It is so far the must see movie of the year. Other films would be hard press to out do this one.

5K Buffet Nashville and Beyond

07 Oct 2012

Once again here in Nashville the 5K Buffet will take place on October 27th at Percy Warner Park Steeplechase Grounds (Intersection of Old Hickory Blvd and Vaughn Rd). If you have no idea where that is here is a link to Google map of the location. A different location from last years scenic pounce along the River in downtown Nashville. But like the previous years this human mobile buffet is for a good cause and will begin with the first wave starting at 11:30 . Anyone could enter this from novice to advance. On the entree page you could select from 5 or 6 levels so don't fret if your out of shape or someone like me who after a half mile weezes like a asthmatic that climbed the Empire State buildings stairs and walked into the old smoking car of the LIRR  .  The levels range from

I will most likely either walking or leaving in an ambulance

to

I have taken to racing animals because humans provide no challenge to me

Nashville Comic Book Show October 6th 2012

06 Oct 2012

Comic festival

Here is a short video I made of the Comic Show 2012 at the TN State Fair Grounds. There was an abundance of vendors and stars. Mainly from the Night of the Living Dead , Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters, and members of the Walking Dead. Sadly some of my photos were of really bad quality and I had to exclude them from this vid. But it does give an idea of the venue .
