Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 Review

Rating: ★★★★½

What can I say . One of the best of the series, spectacular, one of the best conclusion to a series that I have ever saw, heart pumping. All those phrases and more would apply to this film. Seeing it in 3D probably made it for me at least, a perfect visual and entertaining experience. I would rank this one up with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004). Which in my opinion until this one was the best of the series. Again this is an opinion and opinions tend to be of a personal choice . But looking at polls across the web I think I was not alone on this assessment. Most polls rate Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as the second best film. That would be a tough one if you asked me. Deathly Hallows – Part 2 had all those elements I enjoyed from the best scenes of all the other Harry Potte movies . It was deeper in plot isn some ways then the others and tied all the loose ends as in the book series had done.
Usually I pick some highlights to share of the film that either made the film or broke it. In this case there were so many highlights it was hard to keep track of them all. Unlike Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 which was a snoozer ( I know I will hear it from the faithful on saying that ) and had many low lights such as the pace of the film. And yes I do understand that Part 1 was a set up film. Being an avid Babylon 5 fan I can appreciate the set up film . However truth be told they are not the greatest ones to experience. But they are the ones that need to be seen to understand the whole franchise especially the endings. That said Part 2 did not disappoint one bit. I was expecting a pay off and sure enough I got it.
One little parental warning. I noticed many parents taking little kids to the theater and the kids being frightened to the point of tears in some cases. This was a dark film and not really for the kids. Unlike the 1st of the series that was set up as a quasi kid movie . This film was aimed for an older audience. Not saying a kids may not enjoy it. But I do suggest that you go see the movie first before taking your kids. You know them better and could gage what is good for them or not. Me I would not take my youngest but I would take my 12 year old.

Harry Potter New Trailer shows the dark side.

The new Harry Potter trailer reveals some dark images to the next and final installments of what has become no less then a juggernaut in the motion picture industry by all accounts. The cinematography looks just simply stunning and the special effects looks equally so. The show down between Harry and his arch enemy  Voldemort for the last time in the Forbidden Forest was a nice tease to a film that will be shown in two parts . Once on November 19th of this year (2010) and the second  on July 15th, 2011.

What sci fi movies are next for 3D

After reading similar articles in SCI FI Wire and Trekmovie.com it became apparent that Avatars 3D production may be in reality the next wave of movie goers entertainment.  The format of having the film in both 3D and 2D seemed to be a huge success. Whether this is a fad or it is something that will be tangible part of the movie experience in the next couple of years only box office sale will tell.  It would be logical to assume that it is here to stay. Especially that big companies like Sony are investing in both 3D TV's and a network just for 3d programming. Also now that movies like  Clash of the Titans and the 2 remaining Harry Potter movies will all have that format as is evident in their press release which I first read in the Sci Fi  Wire article and confirmed when I googled it to see where it led to. And boy were there tons of articles . Just follow that title link below.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Part II ( 2010 -2011 )

The next installment of the Harry Potter movies was suppose to be the last but it has been split into to feature films . Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will premeir in 2010 and Part 2 will come out the following year 2011. The reasons for the 2 part movie was puzzling so I searched around and found out from Wiki and other sources that ;

The film is to be split in two, with David Yates, who directed the preceding two films, directing both parts. Part 1 will be released in November 2010, and Part 2 in July 2011. The splitting came from the original declined proposal to split Goblet of Fire back in 2004. Deathly Hallows will be shot back to back,and treated as if it were one film.The idea to split the films had been around since the middle of 2007, but only really came into serious consideration after producer David Heyman was able to talk to writer Steve Kloves when the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike ended and Heyman had Rowling's approval. As of April 2009, Kloves is working on the script of second part.

Harry Potter theme park

One of the Universal theme park (Islands of Adventures) in Orlando Florida will have a Harry Potter section added to it in the spring 2010. The 20 acre section of the park named Wizarding World of Harry Potter will feature a realistic view of the Hogsmeade village complete with the Hogwarts express , castle and other attractions .

So being curious and also excited to see the new theme park for myself ( hopefully it will be open by March ) I went straight to the Univeral park web site that was set up for the new section. There I found a neat type of navigation and went right to the F&Q section and map part of the site to get a feel of what is in store for guest. It is a mouth watering tease I can assure you that. And have visited Universal on many occasions I can tell you that they do not make to many mistakes on their attractions. The first look video is also a nice idea of what is instore for you (check at the bottom of the post to get the link for the Universal/Harry Potter site) Here is the results that I found from them and other sources.
