Paramount ends Marvel relationship

Paramount is to end their Marvel relationship in 2012. Why? You ask. Well lets look back on some of the older stories. Now this story really broke in 2009 when Disney took over Marvel comics. Second Disney payed Paramount $115 Million for distribution rights for the Avengers and Iron Man 3. Paramount still kept the distribution rights for Captain America and Thor movies but in this deal looks like any films made after that will be of Disney's doing.

In October of 2010 there was a press release that explains the deal and states the following:

Captain America’s new look

Following the trail of websites that posted the new design of Capt's costume I discovered there was only  a handful of renditions of what the costume will look like. Mostly the best ones coming from the ones listed from the sources below. Though JoBlo's has a couple of postings including a sketch of the costume and some fan art of what the costume will look like Sci Fi Wire reports Aint it cool got their hands on some of the actual design art of the costume. With out saying to much more then that here they are and they are pretty cool looking if you ask me.

X-Men: First Class Origins is a go

Sci Fi Wire reported on an interview done with Bryan Singer and Variety about his return to the X-men franchise and a prequel that involves some of the key characters.

Bryan Singer reveals the story for his new X-Men

(Read the full article at Sci FI WIRE )

A day after we learned that director Bryan Singer will return to the X-Men franchise with a new prequel, he offered up a few more details about the storyline, which involves Charles Xavier/Professor X, Eric Lensherr/Magneto and the creation of the Xavier Academy.

Now out of curiosity since I thought that there should be more so I went digging around on Google and found the Variety article that was the origin of all the other articles . There is a little more that gets the mouth drooling over the prequel . I doubt we will see Patrick Stewart and sir Ian in this one just because of the following statements made in the article.

Disney to buy Marvel for 4 Billion

Ohhhhhhh noooooooooo. Marvel is now going to be under new management. Disney. According to AP and every single legit news periodical out there. Disney has or will buy Marvel for 4 Billion dollars. That is all their catalog of characters. The whole shabang.

Source: CNN

The Walt Disney Co. announced Monday that it has agreed to purchase comic book and action hero company Marvel Entertainment for about $4 billion.

The deal pairs a comic book publisher that just recently began to produce its own movies with one of the largest international media companies in the world.

"This is perfect from a strategic perspective," Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger told CNNMoney.com. "This treasure trove of over 5,000 characters offers Disney the ability to do what we do best."

Wow. This may be one of those deals that can really wrong in so many ways. All depends on how Disney approaches their purchase of Marvel comics. If they approach it with Hands off then everything will be fine. If they try to interfere and make the comics more goofy like and take the human real life drama out of the equation then it may totally end up sucking big time.
