Star Trek TV series 2017

21 May 2016

Finally the new frontier will continue on TV on CBS ( Scroll to the bottom to read the excerpt and follow the link to CBS All Access for the rest of that article). I am so phsyced . New adventures , new heroes , new places, new characters and new everything it looks like. For us fans this has been a long time coming and you can tell they have thrown some major $$$$$$$ into this if the title sequence is any clue.

A totally new Star Trek television series is coming in January 2017! The new series will blast off with a special preview broadcast of the premiere episode on the CBS Television Network, and the premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the United States on CBS All Access.

The brand-new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.

Alex Kurtzman will serve as executive producer for the series. Kurtzman co-wrote and produced the blockbuster films Star Trek (2009) with Roberto Orci, and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) with Orci and Damon Lindelof. Both films were produced and directed by J.J. Abrams.

The new series will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout. Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will serve as executive producers. Kurtzman is also an executive producer for the hit CBS television series Scorpion and Limitless, along with Kadin and Orci, and for Hawaii Five-0 with Orci.

The new program will be the first original series developed specifically for U.S. audiences for CBS All Access, a cross-platform streaming service that brings viewers thousands of episodes from CBS’s current and past seasons on demand, plus the ability to stream their local CBS Television stations live for $5.99 per month. CBS All Access already offers every episode of all previous Star Trek television series.

Star Trek Axanar Full Movie

08 Apr 2015

Screen Shot 2015-04-08 at 8.00.54 PM

Star Trek Axanar is a movie that proves quality does not mean you have to spend a whole lot of money . An impressive project that relies on donations to film is done like a historical documentary of the 4 year war with the Klingons. Without any prejudice this happens to be one of the best indi films that I have seen . Especially those of the Star Trek lore. The special effects and CGI's are top rated by far. The story is one of the more captivating I have seen to date and the acting is superb. I can't wait to see the next installment of this. IMO this should be picked up as a series. But for now they are collecting donations which the links to do so are below.

Information from the Youtube page and links to donate if you want to.

Axanar is the independent production that proves a feature-quality Star Trek film can be made on a very modest budget -- approximately $70,000 in the case of what you just watched -- and outside of the studio system. Filmed in Hollywood, this effort, our short proof-of-concept film to show what our professional and highly talented cast and crew can deliver, was made possible by generous donations to our first Kickstarter effort by fans like you. You are fans of Star Trek. We are fans of Star Trek. Together we can make amazing things happen!

This 21-minute short film, Prelude to Axanar, premiered Saturday, July 26th, 2014, at San Diego Comic Con, and features Richard Hatch, Tony Todd, Kate Vernon, JG Hertzler and Gary Graham -- Gary reprises his role of Soval from "Enterprise." The makeup and hair was designed by Academy Award winner Kevin Haney and Star Trek veteran Brad Look of Makeup Effects Lab in Hollywood. Top that off with the amazing visual effects of Tobias Richter of The Light Works, and sound by Academy Award winner Frank Serafine, and the result is Prelude to Axanar: something unlike anything you have ever seen before. We have our loyal donors to thank for this and we couldn't be more grateful!

Our first Kickstarter for the feature film was an amazing success -- THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's not too late to help make the feature film happen by clicking the following link to learn more about how you can make a difference and be part of the team!

New Star Trek Series maybe heading to Netflix

10 Jun 2014

I caught wind of a rumor that was posted on Geek.com  that indicates that Star Trek for the small screen is not dead but maybe revived by Netflix in a brand new series. According to the article Netflix approached CBS for the rights to produce a new series of Star Trek. In what form it is not clear but from reports it would make sense since one of the most watch streaming series on Netflix and probably other streaming networks are shows from the Star Trek franchise.  As Spock would probably say "Very interesting indeed if it were to be true " . OK  all  Nerd, Geeks , Scifiologist. Get your Spock ears on and start chanting a prayer for this to come to light.  Yea I know a bit much on the corny side of a blog but you got to admit the thought of a small screen series of Trek gets the inner geek in all of us that are fans a bit giddy .

Star Trek Into Darkness – Official Teaser

07 Dec 2012

It is finally here the long awaited trailer of Star trek Into Darkness and it looks awesome.  It looks like it may even be better then first Star Trek  reboot. The scenes have some tantalizing clues like the chief villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Somehow it screams Khan to me but it could be an original villain also . There is not to much to go on in the trailer and whoever the villain is JJ Abrams and crew are keeping it close to the vest until release time and he has some sort of vendetta against Earth or the government of Earth.

There are also other glimpses of what the movie contains  . Two scenes among some others that caught my eye (and I am betting they are taking out of sequence) is the starship rising from what I can presume is the San Francisco Bay and the one crashing into the bay. I guess that its the Enterprise and that the ship probably crashes into the bay  some where in the middle of the film and is presumed destroyed and some how resurrects like a phenix in some climatic scene. Another one is of the blonde that is shown in some of the clips. I wonder if that is the introduction of  either Nurse Chapel or Yeoman Janice Rand  characters.

Plot from Wikipedia

After being called back home, the crew of the Enterprise find a seemingly unstoppable force which has attacked Starfleet and left the planet in chaos. Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise are tasked with leading the deadly manhunt to capture the party responsible and settle an old score.

  • Chris Pine returns to the role of Captain James T. Kirk, captain of the Starship Enterprise. In an interview with Digital Spy, Pine admitted that stepping into William Shatner's shoes was more daunting than when he agreed to taking over the role of Jack Ryan in a reboot of the Tom Clancy film series.
  • Zachary Quinto as Spock
  • Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that his character is the villain, but complicated and neither good nor evil in the traditional sense. Pine has also said that Cumberbatch's performance really impressed him.
  • Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy
  • Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura
  • Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov
  • John Cho as Hikaru Sulu
  • Simon Pegg as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott
  • Bruce Greenwood as Admiral Christopher Pike

Noel Clarke, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Joseph Gatt, Nazneen Contractor, Anjini Taneja Azhar and Nolan North have also been cast, but their roles are unspecified. Heather Langenkamp has also been cast in what she describes as a small role.
