Kings epic novel The Stand will become a feature film
I don't know. Unless its a trilogy I can not see this working. I remember reading the Stand when I was a teenager and thinking holy crap this is a large book. Not only was it large it had so many characters and so much going on that I can not possibly fantom how in the world they would cram it in a 2 hour or so movie. Even with a huge budget. If you think about it the mini series that so many remembered falls short of the novel in some areas. Read more...(561 words, 2 images, estimated 2:15 mins reading time)
The Legendary Pictures Godzilla film is now in full motion with the announcement of Gareth Edwards as the man who will direct this project. Great Choice in my opinion. Monsters was an amazing indie film that was made with little to nothing funds. Matter of fact it was done with a micro budget of 15,ooo and was about alien life forms that spread throughout central America leading to the quarantine of half of Mexico. The U.S. and Mexican militaries are battling to contain the creatures, with a wall stretching along the American border. The story follows Andrew, an American photojournalist helping his wealthy employer's daughter, Samantha, get back to America. Their journey takes them across Central America and eventually into the 'infected zone'
Edwards’ Monsters work has won the filmmaker three British Independent Film Awards, including nods for best director, best achievement in production and best technical achievement. It also landed him work with Timur Bekmambetov on an epic sci-fi project that he is writing as a directing vehicle
Godzilla will be done by Legendary Pictures and Co Produced by Warner Brothers and will be released sometime in 2012.
Warner Brothers buys the rights to Ready Player One

So waht is ready Play One about you may ask for those fans of Cline's you know something about it. For us that saw it on the web and had to go searching here is the novel info that I found so far from Aint it Cool News.
READY PLAYER ONE - In the near future, outcast teenager Wade Watts escapes from his bleak surroundings by logging in to the OASIS, a globally networked virtual utopia where users can lead idyllic alternate lives. When the eccentric billionaire who created the OASIS dies, he offers up his vast fortune as the prize in an elaborate treasure hunt. Along with gamers from around the world Wade joins the adventure, and quickly finds himself pitted against powerful corporate foes who will do anything, in the oasis or the real world, to reach the treasure first. Think Willy Wonka, The Matrix, and Avatar all rolled into one. Read more...(373 words, 1 image, estimated 1:30 mins reading time)

VARIETY reports that David Goyer maybe writing the script for the new Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures Superman project tentatively title The Man of Steel before they loose the right of the character in 2013.
Warner Bros., which is starting production on "Green Lantern" with Ryan Rey nolds toplining, is under a timeline to get another film in production by 2011 or risk having to pay the heirs of Superman creator Jerome Siegel considerable coin for the studio's exploitation of the character over the years. The Siegel heirs and the heirs of co-creator Joe Shuster will own the entire Superman copyright in 2013, according to an ongoing court battle over who owns the character.Goyer is still in negotiations for the project but he is the man for the job judging from his credentials on other films like New Lines "Blade", the last Ghost Rider movie, Batman Begins and he also wrote a version for the planned X - Men Magneto movie.
