Colonization of Moon has has not been without bloodshed. New Red Skies doctrine states that all resistance is to be eliminated on the spot... Even if the culprits are only caught years after their crimes. Comment or like if you like what you see.
Red Skies is a finnish science fiction short film with film noir and spaghetti western elements. It was made with with only two actors and less than 20€ budget. For some time I've entertained a thought of doing original science fiction film that has some form of newly formed Soviet Union in it. Other thing I've been interested in developing further is storytelling without dialogue or monologues. Hence there is no spoken word storytelling to be found here.
The idea went through many versions and names before finally ending up as Red Skies, that follows story of Lt. Volyov from terraformed Moon to the dystopian colony of Mars. As films that use time travel usually have wide arsenal of gaping plotholes, I tried spesifically not to explain how it works. It happens, it's used to send (often) guilty parties back to the scene of their crimes with hood to mask their identity.
Should someone be interested in what writings have inspired this one, my favorite science fiction writers are (in no particular order) Vernor Vinge and Alastair Reynolds. Name of Lt. Volyov is nod towards a character of Reynolds from his Revelation Space series. I highly recommend both Vinge and Reynolds to anyone interested in hard science fiction.
