Disney to get Avatar Land

Disney in conjunction with James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chairs and co-CEOs Jim Gianopulos and Thomas Rothman have settled on bringing to life a section in Disney’s Animal Kingdom called Avatar Land which is based off the hit movie Avatar. It will have all the features you seen in the movie plus some added bonuses. This with out a doubt is a win win for Fox and Disney. Animal Kingdom lacks attractions and since the film was mainly an environmental message wrapped up in a Sci Fi feature film it will fit perfectly into that theme park. Construction of the park will begin in 2013 and probably will take about a year to complete . A conservative estimation has it it opening in 2014 or 15 but I seen how they work in Disney and they are pretty efficient in their design and building. ANd I will bet it is going to be one of those must do’s for sci fi’ers around the Orlando are. Anyway watch the video below for the announcement.
