In the past couple of years there has been a bunch of Kaiju anime series staring the more popular franchise icons of the kaiju world such Godzilla , Kong , Pacific Rim….. And those series seem to fall short of what they could have been. So obviously my expectations of the new Netflix Anime Kaiju series of another Japanese kaiju icon Gamera was rather low. Matter of fact I almost balked on watching it altogether because of the other series. I figure, “Hey this is just gonna be another attempt to cash in on the popularity of a franchise and another underwhelming and silly series”. Well I was wrong. At least on the first two episodes ( I have not watched the rest of the series yet). To my surprise the episodes are done well so far. A better than average human plot geared towards anime lovers, pretty decent animation overall story so far seems better than the others mentioned and some really damn good (finally) monster on monster (lets call it kaiju porn for the addicted) kaiju action. It is well worth giving it whirl. There is only 6 episodes of this series that are listed below with a brief description that was supplied by both the official web site and Netflix. and I am hoping that it recieves the attention and love it deserves so Netflix will fund another mini series for next year.
