Keanu Reeves will play the lead in an upcoming movie called Passengers. The plot which has Keanu’s character on an interstellar ship that will take 100 years to reach its destination. And all the passengers are put into a cryogenic sleep but something goes wrong with the computer and Keanu is woken out 90 years before he should of with no chance of restoring himself to the cryogenic chamber. So instead of facing this faith alone he chooses to wake someone else out of the cryogenic sleep. So happens he chooses a beautiful women that also is along for the ride. Ahem …. Just like a guy to take advantage of a situation like that. And you know it is sci fi because any women that is woken up an hour early that I know would be cranky as heck . Imagine 90 years early.
The movie is being made by Morgan Creek with Reeves, Stephen Hamel and James G. Robinson producing. The script was written Jon Spaihts (Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel) wrote the script. An interesting footnote with Jon Spaihts seems the script for Passengers was #3 for best-unproduced screenplay back in 2007. It was not until now that the film is being made.
It is expected to start shooting sometime in the summer with Gabriele Muccino most likely directing the film.
