The first teaser from Toho's Godzilla Resurgence do out in July of 2016. This is the first Godzilla film from Toho since Final Wars which was back in 2004 and was a direct response to Legendary's success in the American Godzilla. The teaser itself is simple enough even though its not in English its easy to follow. People screaming and running , shaky camera shots much like Cloverfeield ( God I hope that its not filmed like that ) and a Godzilla roar at the end. No need for translation there I would gather.

The film is suppose to be the first time that Godzilla franchise will use CG's and puppet effects. Much like the Toho's live action version of Attack on Titans . As for the big guy he is to bigger then the American version making him the largest Godzilla yet and he will have no links to the American movie arc. Which means we will have two Godzilla story lines running simultaneously for the first time in franchise history. I am sure the loyals will not complain to much. I know I won't .

Godzilla 2014 Review

19 May 2014

Rating: ★★★★☆

What can I say the King of all Monsters is back in this epic movie. It was all that one could hope for in a big budge monster movie . There was Godzilla himself , buildings smashing , a rumble in San Francisco between heavy weights and people running. And there was even a decent story they led somewhere. The Americans for the most part got it right this time. It was good balance of plot suspense and fantasy. They even got the nuclear fire right . Kind of gave me goose bumps similar to that geeky feeling I got when I saw the Transformers for the first time and Optimus transformed. Yea I know sound nerdy but it was awesome.
There was some minor nit picking I could do. And now I will. The characters were some what lack lustered. Flat if you will. They could do with some little quick one liners or site gags to living things up as long as they kept it in the script and not just throw it in there like the 1998 version did. And the big guy himself could of been a little more in the film then he was. Not to much more. I think it was smart to make the story play out and not have it all about monster smash around. Some Godzilla films it gets to much of the big guy and they strive to keep the plot going. They end up fragmenting and going into this spiral of what you can tell is on the spot directors add ons. This one pretty much did not. It kept my attention and was really well done. It was a feast for the eyes .

Can this be the Legendary Godzilla

13 Oct 2011

This could be or maybe not what Godzilla may look like in the upcoming 2013 or maybe 2014 big screen , big budgeted American Godzilla film. According to Dread Central and infamous kid.com Legendary Pictures may have hired Hector A. Arce, a creature/fantasy sculptor for his work he had done on sculpturing Godzilla a long time ago. It is rumored that this or something really close to it maybe the look of Godzilla. None of this is confirmed it is in the strong rumor column from what I am reading. But truthfully if this is the way they are going it is way better then the Tri Star version . They could loose some of the spikes but at least it looks like Godzilla we all know and love. What do you think ?

There was also another article or rather the video in the article at Dread Central called An Open Letter to Legendary Pictures RE: Godzilla that caught my attention. Since I never saw this clip before I thought to myself is this a coming attraction to a reboot of the Japanese Godzilla. Alas not but it was super cool any way. It turns out it is some sort of dream or something like the sequence in a Japanese movie called ALWAYS- SUNSET ON THIRD STREET- 2 which was a surprise and a hit with the Japanese audience and rightfully so. It is a fantastically full CG'ed sequence. And I hope that those doing Legendary's version has watched that clip.

Godzilla lands Gareth Edwards as director

07 Jan 2011

Source Hollywood Reporter

The Legendary Pictures Godzilla film is now in full motion with the announcement of Gareth Edwards as the man who will direct this project. Great Choice in my opinion. Monsters was an amazing indie film that was made with little to nothing funds. Matter of fact it was done with a micro budget of 15,ooo and was about alien life forms that spread throughout central America leading to the quarantine of half of Mexico. The U.S. and Mexican militaries are battling to contain the creatures, with a wall stretching along the American border. The story follows Andrew, an American photojournalist helping his wealthy employer's daughter, Samantha, get back to America. Their journey takes them across Central America and eventually into the 'infected zone'

Edwards’ Monsters work has won the filmmaker three British Independent Film Awards, including nods for best director, best achievement in production and best technical achievement. It also landed him work with Timur Bekmambetov on an epic sci-fi project that he is writing as a directing vehicle

Godzilla will be done by Legendary Pictures and Co Produced by Warner Brothers and will be released sometime in 2012.
