Hollywood Reporter has announced that Starz the cable premium cable channel will share production cost on the new season of Torchwood. As it was reported before the series went through a roller coaster ride of being canceled to being picked up by Fox to being rejected by Fox and now being picked up by Starz. This time however they get a bit of a good chance of being the hit it should of been. Like Stargate SG1 that started off on another cable channel Showtime Torchwood may have a chance to be seen by a wider audience. Granted it will be restricted at first to Starz channel and BBC One but once the shows start trickling into syndication you can bet that it will be a hit. THR went on to say that John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return joined by key American actors also creator Russell T. Davies said
“It’s not going to be ‘Lost’ and take 20 years to find out what’s going on. It’s going to have a most remarkable conclusion after 10 episodes.”
Also the show will in a format much like the mini series Children of the Earth.
“The 1o episodes will be serialize like the mini series version of the show Children of Earth to quote the article
but unlike the show’s two previous seasons, the international edition of “Torchwood” will be serialized rather than using the show’s original “monster of the week” format.”
What ever the case i am glad to see the series back on track and that a quality sci fi show is returning. Just really sucks I will have to wait to see it on syndication. Hopefully BBC America also gets in on it .
