The Los Angeles Times reported that Walter Koenig’s son committed suicide . Koenig appeared at a press conference Thursday evening to announce that his son “Growing Pains ” actor Andrew Koenig body was found the day before in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. The body was found when both Walter and Judy Koenig ( Walters wife) along with 10 friends went back to the park to conduct a search . They split into two teams. It was the second team that came across Andrew and reported back. As for Walter and Judy they made a plea to anyone that suffers depression.

Walter Koenig appealed to those who might be in emotional pain: “If you can learn anything from this, it’s that there are people out there who really care, and you may not think so, and ultimately it may not be enough, but … before you make that final decision, check it out again, talk to somebody.”

Said Judy: “Don’t rationalize away anything — connect with each other if there’s something that’s bothering you, because there’s love out there.”

It is a sad day for them and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Koenig’s in this time of sorrow. As a fan it is horrible news. As a father myself I can never imagine the pain he and his wife must be going through.
